Year 6 students also participated in the Darwin Middle School Olympiad. The olympiad is an event that brings together students from several local primary schools. Working in mixed groups, they completed team-building challenges, construction tasks, hula-hoop and teamwork games, and a range of physical activities.
Hi everyone! I’m excited to share that our year six students recently took part in the Darwin Middle School Olympiad as part of their transition to year seven next year. The Olympiad brought together students from a range of local primary schools giving them the chance to start building new friendships and getting to know the middle school teachers that they’ll work with in 2026.
Students were placed into mixed groups and took part in a series of fun, hands-on activities designed to encourage teamwork, communication, and problem solving. Throughout the morning, they rotated through challenges, including team building construction tasks, hula hoop teamwork games, and a range of physical activities.
It was wonderful to see students collaborating with students that they’d never met before, stepping outside of their comfort zone and having a really positive experience of what middle school might look like. Our students returned to school full of energy, sharing stories from the morning, and many walked away feeling excited and confident about starting year seven next year.
A big thank you to Darwin Middle School for hosting such a well organised and enjoyable event. It was a fantastic way for our students to begin forming connections ahead of 2026.
