We embrace creative approaches and digital tools to equip students with the skills they need for the future: critical thinking, problem solving, clear communication, and creativity.
Students describe innovation as something that makes them feel more connected and creative to the real world. They enjoy having different ways to express their ideas, whether that’s designing, experimenting, or imagining new possibilities.
So one of the things that we use is Canva. It’s basically just an app that we use to like publish our work and it’s full of presentations, documents, and it’s full of everything that we can use.
There’s magic recommendations. We can search things up and whatever we need is right there honestly.
We use AI to make our own custom chat bots to answer questions when we are learning in civics or history.
Students tell us that IntelliLearn, which our school designed, is helping them improve their literacy skills in ways that feel targeted to their needs.
They enjoy using Canva to design projects that look professional and allow them to express their creativity. Chat bots give them a safe space to test ideas and practice problem solving while image generators spark their imagination and making learning more engaging.
So ever since I’ve joined Canva it’s taught me how to be creative and myself. It gives children, and even adults, the opportunity to just be creative and it, who knows, even in middle school and high school, you might even need it there as well. And even for homework.
Since AI is becoming more of a bigger thing I have to be aware of it. Because maybe one day when whatever future job I have, it might require it. So always have to be prepared.
For our students, innovation isn’t just about technology. It’s about building the skills, confidence, and creativity they’ll carry into the future.
Being more innovative has helped me because it’s taught me how to be more creative and more of a critical thinker.
I’ve learned how to think more in detail and these tools are very useful.
