Students participating in the international study tour to Singapore engaged in a wide variety of experiences that combined learning, culture, and fun. They connected with peers at Invictus International, our sister school, strengthening friendships and gaining insight into education in another country.
The study tour gives students a chance to experience the richness of Asian cultures and people helping them appreciate differences and develop a broader worldview. In Singapore, they will enjoy authentic Asian cuisine, see significant historical landmarks, and visit our sister school, Invictus International, to connect with peers.
On the first couple of days, we went to Invictus, which is our sister school, and we did some activities with our pen pal buddies. We also went to the science center, which was really fun and it was interesting to watch all the shows and all the experiments they had.
The next day we went to was our cultural day.
We went to Chinatown and Little India, and then we ended the week going to Universal and Singapore Zoo.
One of my favorite days is when we go and visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Students are amazed by the golden statues, the carvings and incenses, gaining a meaningful glimpse into Buddhist traditions and Singapore’s rich culture.
In Singapore, I really loved going to the science center and learning things in the science field and learning a lot of stuff from all the people there. And the humanoid robot, which was really like once in a lifetime thing. There’s not really many.
I liked getting to know different cultures and especially the food. I love the food. And yeah, it was a really fun time.
This trip helps students appreciate cultural diversity, broaden their worldview, and connect with peers at our sister school in Singapore, they also build independence and confidence through real life skills like traveling, handling money, and exploring new environments.
This trip helped me learn a bit more independence because we had to spend our money wisely and follow instructions and we also had to meet back in spots at certain times.
We really experienced some new things that you can’t really see in Darwin, and I really like how we learnt some independence and how we really like had to be wise with our money.
